Degreane
Appearing for the first time at Meteorological Technology World Expo, the new AWOS – SIOMA (Automated Weather Observing System – integrated runway meteorological observation system) from Degreane has been specifically developed to fulfill airport maintenance and data availability needs, as well as the integration of increasingly complex systems such as wind profilers, automatic terminal information services (ATIS), and satellite information.
SIOMA offers the latest online technologies, integrating robust and field-proven Ethernet-based protocol for data transfer and remote maintenance. The system includes the meteorological sensor suite, which is based on Degreane’s Horizon automatic weather data collection unit, transmissometer, ceilometer and present weather readings.
The newly developed CAOBS chrome suite software for observer, forecaster, maintenance and ATC working positions, enables all meteorological parameters to be displayed, along with the observation parameter input and the validation of the aeronautical and synoptical coding message projects. Powerful display capabilities have also been integrated, providing customized views for all end-users including maintenance cruise, forecasters and ATC controllers.
