Road weather monitoring instruments
Teconer

Teconer provides cost-efficient solutions for road weather measurements and will present its new tools for optimizing winter maintenance operations at Meteorological Technology World Expo 2022. The showcased offering covers instruments for both mobile and stationary measurement needs.

Compact road weather stations are available for all essential road weather measurements, including surface condition, friction, water/ice layer thickness, air pressure, wind speed, dew point and surface temperature. The company’s non-invasive sensors and use of existing road infrastructure contribute to the easy installation and maintenance of each station.

The new design of the mobile road sensor has improved its analysis capabilities while reducing the sensor’s physical size. The installation and relocation of mobile road sensors anywhere in the vehicle are therefore easier than ever before.

The mobile and fixed-point road weather measurements provide an excellent tool for winter maintenance operations on roads and at airports. Continuous measurements by mobile sensors effectively complement the data gaps in road sections between road weather station sites and improve the understanding of the road surface conditions all over the network. All measurement data is available for reviewing and retrieving in a user-friendly way on the Teconer server. All data can be integrated into other traffic management systems.

The system makes planning winter maintenance operations easier and optimizes the use of de-icing agents, providing road users with safer conditions and improving road weather forecasts. Considerable savings in winter maintenance costs can be achieved by timely information on road weather to support management decisions.

Teconer is a pioneer in mobile road condition detection technology and has extensive experience modeling road weather and surface condition. It develops environmental sensors and specializes in optical sensor technology for professional use.
