Laboratory Minimax

Laboratory Minimax has been developing and implementing modern methods of meteorological control in the road industry for almost 30 years. The Russian company will present two software products at the show – Forecast as a Service (FaaS) and Road Maintenance Control Center (RMCC).

FaaS creates custom alerts based on the forecasts it generates. The service uses information it collects from automatic road weather stations to generate a forecast in 20-minute increments with a four- to 48-hour horizon. The forecast includes the parameters most relevant for traffic safety: surface temperature, air temperature, dew point, windspeed, precipitation type and accumulation, liquid and/or solid surface deposit layer thickness, cloudiness, and relative humidity. The module can also forecast more than 40 different hazardous phenomena, including slipperiness, intense or prolonged precipitation, strong winds, rapid temperature changes and other adverse environmental conditions.

RMCC is an implementation of the forecasting service for the road maintenance industry and enables the user to develop an effective road maintenance strategy. The system has become the de facto standard for road maintenance organizations at all levels in Russia.

RMCC creates a comprehensive representation of current and forecast conditions in the user’s geographic area of responsibility in an easy-to-read form (text messages, timelines, graphs). The user can create a customized subscription to specific alerts and receive them on a mobile device, which allows monitoring of the traffic situation in close to real time, regardless of the nature of the user’s work and geographic location. By taking local regulations into account, RMCC can be configured to work anywhere on the globe.
