Heated humidity and temperature probe

The EE260 from Austrian sensor manufacturer E+E Elektronik is specially developed for demanding meteorology applications. The high-precision humidity and temperature probe on show at Meteorological Technology World Expo 2022 is ideally suited for reliable weather monitoring in road traffic or at airports. Its innovative design integrates a heated humidity sensing head and a temperature sensing element into one probe. Due to its compact design, the EE260 is compatible with standard rotationally symmetric radiation shields.

The dual heating system (sensing element and probe heating) prevents condensation on the RH sensing element, the sensing head and the filter cap. Therefore, the EE260 provides precise and reliable measurement results even in the case of permanent high humidity. Other benefits of the dual heating system are the very short response time and fast recovery after condensation.

The proprietary E+E sensor coating offers important benefits in use under harsh conditions. It protects the RH sensing element and its leads against corrosive and electrically conductive contamination. Particularly near the sea or in dusty environments, the long-term stability and service life are significantly improved.

The sensing probe provides the measured data simultaneously on two freely configurable voltage outputs and via the RS-485 interface with Modbus RTU protocol. Based on the measured humidity and temperature values, the EE260 calculates further humidity-related quantities such as the dew point temperature, absolute humidity and mixing ratio.
