EUMETSAT - Stand 13045

The European Organisation for the Exploitation of Meteorological Satellites (EUMETSAT) will once again be exhibiting at Meteorological Technology World Expo. EUMETSAT is an intergovernmental organisation founded in 1986 to supply weather- and climate-related satellite data, images and products to the national meteorological services of its member and cooperating states in Europe and worldwide – 24/7.
EUMETSAT’s goal is to improve the daily lives of European citizens and to ensure their safety. It does this by operating a system of meteorological satellites that continuously observe the atmosphere and the ocean and land surfaces. The satellites aid meteorologists in identifying and monitoring the development of potentially dangerous weather situations and in issuing timely forecasts and warnings to emergency services and local authorities. This way, the effects of severe weather can be mitigated, and people’s lives and property can be protected as much as possible. In addition, this information is critical to ensuring the safety of air travel, shipping and road traffic, and for the daily business of farming, construction and a number of other industries.
