DEGREANE HORIZON
New from Degreane, SIOMA is an automated weather observing system (AWOS) specifically developed to suit airport needs.
It requires little maintenance, has high data availability and can be easily integrated with more complex systems such as wind profilers, automatic terminal information services (ATIS), and satellite information.
SIOMA is oriented toward the latest web-based technologies, integrating robust and field-proven Ethernet-based protocol for data transfer and remote maintenance. Major subsystems include: meteorological sensors located at runway threshold; dedicated control unit (DCU) acquisition platforms based on a client/server architecture including a SQL-type database process and a web server; and CAOBS Chrome suite software for observer, forecaster, maintenance and ATC working positions, allowing the display of all the meteorological parameters, the observation parameter input, and the validation of the aeronautical and synoptic coding message projects.
Degreane Horizon focuses on turnkey airport solutions, particularly AWOS, wind profiler radars and added-value key sensors. As well as SIOMA, the company has developed a solution to detect horizontal windshear up to 10km (6 miles), based on clear air wind profiler radar measurement.
